Empowering the underprivileged in Singapore through Enterprise
The Association of Malay Entrepreneurs (KESUMA) is a not for profit organization registered with the Registrar of Society in 2003. The purpose of its establishment was to resolve the problems faced by troubled, overlooked and unrepresented communities in Singapore like youths at risk, single parent families and low income individuals. Our approach to these problems however is not typical as it addresses the problems through the sharing of knowledge and skills which will help them in the long term instead of a one of solution. Out mission is to transform the lives of our beneficiaries from helplessness into business minded people who are able to stand on their own two feet. We reach out to our beneficiaries by providing them entrepreneurship program, mentorship and even youth competition in schools. To date, our project have been deemed successful as numerous of our participants re today directors of their own companies.
The Association of Malay Entrepreneurs (KESUMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Sarawak Bumiputra Chamber of Entrepreneurs (DUBS) on 16 August 2019 . The MOU seeks to collaborate on mutually agreed activities in the fields of Trade and Industry, Finance, Investment, Tourism, Medical and other fields between the two organisation. It was signed by Mr Ibrahim Ariff, president of KESUMA and Datu Abang Halmi Bin Ikhwan , president of DUBS and witnessed by Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade and Industry Singapore and Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Chief Minister of Sarawak.
